Wow, our first Pet Blogger Challenge! We are so excited!
However, we also find ourselves feeling very intimidated and unsure. This whole "blogging thing" is still so new to us.
When all of you expert bloggers take a look at our blog, we ask that you all please bear with us and overlook all our faux "paws".
Well, here we go ...
1. When did you begin your blog?
We are very new to blogging. Our blog is only a few months old.
2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
Our original purpose for starting a blog was to flesh out our website, and to add another feature for our clients to enjoy. We were also looking for an avenue in which to share pet stories, videos, safety notices, helpful tips, etc, etc.
3. Is your current purpose the same? If not, what’s different? If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?
Our purpose is still the same, however we find that as we grow in our learning of this whole "blogging thing", a whole new world is opening up to us ... so our purpose will most likely grow and change.
4. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you? If the latter, do you worry about… well, whatever you might worry about (e.g. losing traffic, losing momentum)?
So far, we are blogging "as the spirit moves us" ... guess only time will tell how that will work out for us. No worries so far. In fact, it is very exciting to check in each day and see who has read our blog while we were gone.
5. Are you generating income from your blog? If so, how (e.g. sponsor ads, affiliate relationships, spokesperson opportunities)?
We are so new, that we are still learning about all the possibilities out there. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated! In fact, when we finish posting this, we plan to read through everyone's Challenge answers and glean all the words of wisdom we can find.
6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular (bragging is good!)?
What we enjoy most about blogging is other folk's feedback, and hearing how something we posted helped someone or made a difference in their lives. We also love hearing about other's experiences, and their feelings about what we post. Often we find that it is the feedback that gives us the fuel to keep moving forward with this.
7. What do you like least?
Ironically, what we enjoy least is the writing part, and learning all the "do's & don'ts" about blogging. Face-to-face we can hold our own very well. But when faced with putting things down into the written word, well ... that is quite a challenge. We are approaching this with the best of intentions, and realize we have a lot to learn. However, the aggressive attacks, when we make a faux "paw", is hurtful and hard to handle. We are still working on growing that thick skin.
8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2011?
This question is hard to answer right now. We still have so much to learn. We are still at the "
the more we learn, the more we find we do not know" stage. We suppose that is our answer ... as we learn all the ins & outs of blogging, we hope our blog becomes better and better.
Phew ... that was not near as bad as we feared it might be! =o)
